What Customers Say About Milwaukee 2401-22 12-Volt Li-ion Sub-Compact Driver Kit:

Changing bits is a breeze and this drill has nice little features we don't think about until we experience them. Charges fast, has plenty of power for most home jobs, and is very convenient. Best drill I own. This drill is worth 3 times what I paid on Amazon. It is the handiest drill I have ever owned. Nice little led light in front of handle to see area of work, reversible, torque control, variable speed, lightweight and small for easy drilling and screwing.

The battery life is outstanding. I'm very satisfied with it. The quick release for drill bits/screw driver tips is great. I've owned and used this tool for about a year now. I saw a whole bunch of positive reviews for it and that made it an easy buying decision. It's lite and very easy to use.

The standard supplied charger was very quick. I bought the 37 piece add on kit which includes other bits, magnetic holder and a few bits. The desk charger is a welcome addition as I hate those plug in charges that require you lay your driver on the floor to be charged. CAUTION however, the factory told me NOT to try to put a bit in that was very short, as it drops too deeply into the chuck and getting it out is a problem.

It was not clear from the description but the KIT includes the Driver, desk charger, TWO batteries, and ONE philips bit. When you put this driver in your hand you get the feel of a well made product. Others had commented the drills bit break easily, and I guess they would if you challenged them - but for wall board and simple wood pilot holes they worked without breaking. The clutch is great and I found the perfect setting for just about all my applications. On my last project for a 7' high X 8' wide TV wall unit, I purchased this Milwaukee after doing some quick checks of others reviews after my Black and Decker died. I especially liked the fact that the LED light (a bit low in output) can be turned on without running the drill, by squeezing the trigger slightly. I don't think this driver was meant for large screws or drills - but #6, 8, 10 or 12 are handled without a problem. Lithium batteries are the ONLY way to go.

One last feature, the bit chuck stays open when you eject a bit - and snaps back when you insert another - really nice feature. I'm a DIY guy - I find myself putting together lots of IKEA cabinets, closets, and wall units. Also, the variable speed is very nicely controlled with the trigger action.I used the slow speed to start lots of screws carefully without splitting the wood or composite board. My only complaint is it take a bit of two finger force to remove the battery from the bottom of the driver, but on the other hand - it snaps in with a solid feel and with the battery in your hand the balance is great - I like it better than the batter below the hand type.

The real test was installing over 100 ft of fencing which the gun handled just fine. fits in your hand nicely with little to no fatique over long term usage.-Powerful for a small 12V unit.-Light comes in handy in reduced light work.-Batteries hold their charge with repetitive driving of screws.

but then, that's not the intention of this tool.Aside from the current trigger problem I have been VERY happy with the Milwaukee. this gun is no exception.-Easy to change out bitsCons:-No place to store a second on-board bit.

Drilling will discharge any battery at a much faster rate. gun quits working.-Does not have the muscle to drive long screws (such as cabinet screws) at an acceptable rate or depth.

I have used this tool several times a week since purchasing in mid 2008. Otherwise, I use the Milwaukee for primarily light duty work.Pros:-Easy to hold.

Only a problem if you have to switch between phillips and slot screws.-The trigger just recently started giving me periodic problems.

Can't beat Amazon's price + free shipping. My hand/arm would get tired from using the 18-28 volt drills we had and this 12 volt easily stepped in when needed and was great for tight areas too. My boss has also bought one for personal use. Bought for $99 from Amazon when my office was paying $129 through a Milwaukee rep. I bought this driver for my self last month after using one at work for the past year and a half. I drove 3" screws into 2X8 PT last year with this driver albeit not too many of them (was just testing it). Highly recommended.P.S.
